Sonora Walker, Project Coordinator
Sonora Walker assists Project Managers with the implementation of program administrative requirements for our housing rehabilitation, neighborhood revitalization, and economic development projects in the Tallahassee office. Sonora has worked with various state and federal programs including CDBG, SHIP, Housing Choice Voucher (formerly Section 8), STAG, HPRP, and Rural Infrastructure programs. As a highly organized and effective member of the team, Sonora's responsibilities include administration and implementation of state, federal and local housing grants, client communication and client service, research and analysis and document preparation. In addition, she handles all communication regarding homeowners, intake of all project-related information, review and preparation of all bidding documents, and file preparation and review for affordable housing programs. For the convenience of our clients, Sonora is also a Florida Public Notary.
Sonora also serves as a Housing Coordinator for the Housing Choice Voucher Program (formerly Section 8). She provides our clients with a wide range of services from program administration to financial management. In addition, she specializes in the interpretation and implementation of HUD guidelines to ensure the program is in compliance with all federal and local regulations. Sonora is proficient in providing management and oversight of program eligibility operations, recertifications, data analysis, voucher issuance, housing subsidy calculation and fraud prevention.
Experience: Ms. Walker has over ten extensive years with administration/clerical experience in various professional venues. She is highly organized and skilled in client relations and computer software.
Qualifications: In addition to her experience, Ms. Walker possesses an Associate of Science degree from Lake City Community College and is currently pursuing a bachelor's degree.
